I know this is probably weird but I used to find it really easy to identify with Disney princesses. I used to Adore Belle because she was smart and she was able to see the good in people where others couldn’t. I don’t anymore. First, Im not very smart, I’m not very pretty, and I’ve seen too much of the bad in people to see the good.

And then I used to identify with Ariel. Rebellious, witty, doing anything for love, and yet she’s also insecure and watches her man from afar until she gets her chance. I don’t anymore. I’m not rebellious—I’m perfectly content with staying at home— I’m most definitely, in fact I’m quite shy. I AM insecure and would do anything for love but….I almost feel like I don’t deserve to identify with her.

NOW I only find that I identify with the sleeping princesses, Sleeping Beauty and Snow White. Forced to wait for her Prince Charming to come to her, completely useless and incompetent. I wish mine would come faster, because for some reason it feels like I’m not really living until he kisses my lips for the first time.
